Man, its gotten quiet in here....<crickets chirping> ... anyone doin anything cool with Lazslo or Flex yet? Better yet, do you have something you can share with us?
I have learned some of the Flex MXML language which is very easy to pick up. I have tried out the Flex IDE, which is basically Dreamweaver with Flex tags built in and some advanced debugging capability.
I have also been following the Flex mailing group and it appears that doing things that are not directly included in MXML is absolutely non-trivial, requiring a strong grasp of Actionscript, Java and OO concepts. It will be interesting to see how designers and developers work together to create cutting-edge apps using these types of technogies. If you are a traditional browser-based application developer or designer, the learning curve is going to be high. I just ordered the book "Developing Rich Clients with Macromedia Flex" by the guys over at Iteration Two. I'll do a write up when I get it; I expect it to be great because those guys seem to really know their stuff!
